The Flowering Vine

An old-fashioned flowering vine that is not seen often enough, the Solandra, or Cup of Gold Vine, produces huge, delicately colored flowers, foliage and interesting branches and is well represented in the Artist's Flowering Vine Series.  This study was painted en plein air from a Solandra that twines around the South balcony of Elena Roché's home.
