Calm Lagoon, Queen Ann Cottage is a plein air oil painting of an historic California building commissioned and built in 1885 by entrepreneur Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin.  Surrounded on three sides by Baldwin Lake , one of the few natural bodies of  water in Southern California, the cottage makes an attractive subject for painting.

A plein air oil painting of the
lagoon with the Queen Ann Cottage in the background at the Los Angeles Arboretum

Best viewed about four to five feet from the screen.
